My real estate career dates back over 20 years in Sarasota and the west coast.  It is something I enjoy and cherish.  As a member of the National Association of Realtors I subscribed to Code of Ethics.  It was adopted by NAR in 1910 and sets this organization apart from all other professional organization in the US. Every time an agent renews their license part of the exam is devoted to a review of the Code and every four years an agent must take a course & test devoted to the code.  The membership governs NAR and it is serious about its relationship with the public whether it a client, a vendor or another agent. 

Please take note of the letters after my name.  These are designations I have earned over the years & what I learned here helps me help my clients.  Let me explain in a sentence the signifigance of each:

CRS  - Certified Residential Specialist

To qualify one must have tenure in the business and during those years do a variety of transcations, and   do a substantial volume of business. I earned this in 1995 and less than 5% of all Realtors have this credential.

 CDPE – Certified Distressed Property Expert.  Just a few years ago designations like this did not exist because residential properties where the mortgage was in arrears were rare and a very small part of real estate transactions and were of one type, a foreclosure.  Today foreclosures are a substantial part of the transactions each month and along with another form of property financial failure, the short sale is an important part of today’s real estate market.  There are property owners in the market that need help because of the decline in values and to be of service and do it right training is necessary.  This designation has become the standard in the industry for new pert of the market.

e PRO – Electronic Professional  Less than a decade or so ago E mail hardly existed and was not commonly used.  Today it has so many uses it is a part of almost everyone’s life in the civilized world.  It is a large part of real estate communication with clients, vendors, financial institutions and governmental institutions.  This work to earn the designation gave me   the skills and knowledge to make the most of this medium.  I earned this in 1995 and was one of the earliest agents to earn the designation.

My membership in NAR goes along well with three other long standing relationships in my life; my commitment to my God and church, my marriage of 48 years, and a member of Rotary for 27 years. 

Rotary's motto is “Service above self” and that ties in well with all my daily activities whether it is in real estate, activities with my church, and of course, Rotary. 

I co-opted from my insurance company a motto they embrace “We know how to serve.” They do know, and it is the reason they have been my insurance company and bank for 53 years.
